ÀϹݸñÀÇ °£¹úÀº 1999³â °¡À»¿¡ ½Ç½ÃµÇ¾úÀ¸¸ç, äÁ¾¸ñÀÇ ´Ü°£Àº 1996³â¿¡ ´ëÁ¶±¸¸¦ Æ÷ÇÔÇÏ¿© 2m¿Í 1m·Î ½Ç½ÃµÇ¾ú´Ù. ±¸°ú¿Í Á¾ÀÚÀÇ Æ¯¼º Á¶»ç´Â 2000³â 8¿ù¸»~9¿ùÁß¼ø¿¡ ¹Ì·ç¾îÁ³À¸¸ç ±¸°ú¿¡ ´ëÇؼ­´Â »ýÁß·®, ±æÀÌ, Æø, Á¾ÀÚ¼ö ¹× Á¾ÀÚ»ý»ê·®(¹«°Ô)ÀÌ Á¶»çµÇ¾ú°í, Á¾ÀÚ´Â ±æÀÌ, Æø ¹× ¹«°Ô°¡ Á¶»çµÇ¾ú´Ù.

ÀÓ¸ñ´ç ÃÑ Á¾ÀÚ¼ö(ÀÓ¸ñ´ç ±¸°ú¼ö x ±¸°ú´ç Á¾ÀÚ¼ö)´Â 2m ´Ü°£ äÁ¾¸ñ¿¡¼­ 6051.9°³·Î °¡Àå ³ô°Ô ³ªÅ¸³µÀ¸¸ç, ¹«°£¹ú¸ñ¿¡¼­ 2185.8°³·Î °¡Àå ³·°Ô ³ªÅ¸³µ´Ù. ¹«°£¹ú¸ñ¿¡ ºñÇØ 2m ´Ü°£ äÁ¾¸ñÀº 2.77¹è, 1m ´Ü°£ äÁ¾¸ñÀº 1.97¹èÀÇ ¸¹Àº Á¾ÀÚ¸¦ »ý»êÇÏ¿´°í, ¹«Ã³¸®Ã¤Á¾¸ñ¿¡ ºñÇØ 2m ´Ü°£¸ñÀº 2.19¹è, 1m ´Ü°£¸ñ¿¡ ºñÇØ 2m ´Ü°ü¸ñÀº 1.40¹è ¸¹Àº Á¾ÀÚ¸¦ »ý»êÇÏ¿´´Ù.
To improve nut production and cone-collecting method, the effect of thinning and stem cut were investigated on production and characteristics of cones and seeds for Korean white pine of age class III (24-year-old) and grafted seed orchard established in 1982. Leader shoots of grafted trees were pruned at the hight of 1m or 2m above the ground in the year of 1996. And thinning was performed for age class 111 in the fall of 1999. The results were as follows:
1) Cone (fresh weight, length, width and seed number) and seed (length and width) traits were significantly different among all traits for the effect of thinning, but among other traits excluding cone length and number of seed per cone for the effect of stem cut. 2) Although stem-cut trees produced larger quantify of cones than uncut trees, thinning out cones may be required to improve quality of cone and seed for stem-cut trees. 3) A highly positive correlation was observed among cone and seed traits. 4) Total seed number per tree (No. of cones per tree x seed number per cone) varied from 2185.8 in unthinned trees to 6051.9 in 2m top-pruned trees, which indicates that stem cut can improve cone productivity of a tree.
