1983년에 조성된 잣나무 수형목 167 clone의 clone보존원에 1986년부터 1989년까지, 개화시기, 개화율, 개화량을 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
1) 웅화가 조기 개화하는 소수 clone과 웅화가 늦게 비산하는 소수 clone들 사이에는 자연교배 될 수 없는 clone들도 있었다. 2) 웅화의 개화율은 낮았으며 자화의 개화율보다 유전적인 영향을 많이 받고 있었다. 3) 자화와 웅화의 개화량은 소수 clone에 의하여 영향을 받고 있었다. 4) 자화와 웅화의 개화량은 상호 상관이 없었으며 167 clone중 42 clone은 자화가 개화하지 않았다. 5) 167 clone의 개화량은 L.S..D. 5% 검정에 의하여 자화는 3무리, 웅화는 4무리로 분류되었다. 6) 주성분 분석에 의하여 자화와 웅화가 다량 개화하는 clone을 선발할 수 있었다. 7) 자와의 개화율과 개화량을 기준으로 유기는 접목후 4년까지였으며, 전이기는 접목후 5년부터 7년까지 성숙기는 접목후 8년 부터였다. 8) 잣나무 접목묘는 실생묘보다 6년 이상 빠르게 개화하였다.
One hundred and sixty clones of Pinus koraiensis in clone bank planted in 1983 were investigated for time of flowering, rate of flowering, and number of flowering from 1986 to 1989. The results were as follows:
1) There were clones in the minority which do not cross in natural pollination between earliest flowering female clones and latest shedding male clones. 2) The rate of male flowering appeared to be less than rate of female flowering, and to be influenced more genetically rather than the latter. 3) The number of flowering in female and male flower was affected by small number of clones. 4) The flowering number for female strobili was not related to the flowering number of male flower. 42 clones among 167 clones had no female flower. 5) The flowering number of 167 clones were classified three groups in female flower and four groups in male flower by L.S.D. 5% test. 6) The clones with abundant female and male flower were selected based on the component analysis. 7) As based on flowering rate and number of female, the juvenile phase of plus tree clones appeared to be until four years after grafting; the transition period appeared to be from five to seven years after grafting; and the adult phase appeared to begin from eight years after grafting. 8) The grafted trees showed flowering about six years earlier than seedling trees.
